In the automotive industry, efficient and effective supply chain management is crucial to ensure spare parts availability in the market. How to achieve this? ABS All Brake Systems, a prominent manufacturer of automotive parts, has chosen our comprehensive support for development in Scandinavia, Germany, and Poland.

Before products reach their end customers , they undergo a lengthy journey and pass through various stages of the supply chain. Therefore, when the process is managed by an one-stop-shop logistics operator, this gives added value for the customer and helps them save time, and reduce costs.

What does the supply chain managed by us for ABS look like?

We streamline the customs clearance process for ABS products, arriving at the ports of Gdansk or Gdynia. Subsequently, these goods are transported to our Szczecin branch, which serves as a logistical hub for Northern and Western Europe. There, products are stored, assembled into orders, and undergo rigorous quality checks. The next step entails fast distribution via our extensive domestic distribution network and regular international transportation connections to key markets, including Poland, Germany, and the Nordic countries.

The key to efficient distribution is order picking, which often involves multiple different items. To expedite this process, we use an automated lift racks. Why? Upon scanning an order, the necessary shelf automatically descends, simplifying the retrieval process. Over time, the system's algorithm learns product groupings that are frequently dispatched together and proactively optimizes shelf placements, further expediting operations. Whereas, traditional racking systems require physical retrieval of products even when indicated by the WMS system.

The collaboration form customer’s point of view

Wouter Kothuis, Director Operations at ABS, emphasizes, “The growing ABS distribution network has a firm footprint in Europe and with a 45-year long presence in the market our products ensure the freedom of independent travel for millions of consumers worldwide. Collaborating with Rohlig SUUS Logistics, who bring a holistic approach to the entire supply chain, including customs services, road forwarding, and access to a state-of-the-art warehouse in Szczecin, reinforces our position in the crucial markets of Poland, Germany, and the Nordic countries. Shared values and a family-oriented approach to business make this partnership even more compelling for us, as both ABS and SUUS are family-owned enterprises, placing utmost importance on our people, employees, customers, and business partners."
