toll

Dear Sirs,

on 1 July 2011 in Poland will start to operate an electronic toll collection system.

Obligatory fee for road use will apply to selected sections of highways, expressways and national roads, which will cover 1,565 km in total length.

The government also announced gradual development of toll collection system spanning further 150 km of roads in 2012, 970 km in 2013 and 200 km in 2014. More information about the electronic toll collection system can be found on the official website www.viatoll.pl.

Needless to say, introduction of a new road tax will be equivalent to a cost increase for road transport services in Poland.

In connection with the regulations described above, the additional fee will apply to all those services offered by Rohlig SUUS Logistics, which include domestic road transport in Poland. The fee will be applied to transport costs from the date of its nationwide implementation, 1 July 2011.

In the meantime, a special project team at Rohlig SUUS Logistics is currently working on a conversion mechanism that allows for reliable calculation of this fee related to official toll rates.

The intention of our company is to make this new fee (1) equal to the actual value paid by our carrier in the case of full truck shipments, and (2) averaged out in the case of groupage shipments.

Naturally, similar regulations will need to be implemented by most transport and logistics companies in Poland, as the new fee will apply to all market players.
